I've a quick question. If I call this insultingly simplistic, does that make me an Obama lover too? If so, how can I overcome this unfortunate deficiency?
.

Simple?....perhaps (you know, for all the "Simple Jack's" on in this forum).

True?.........definitely.

Obama has made clear and impressive steps to improve and restore American prestige in the world. This is in addition to the fact that Elmer Fudd could make significant strides in that direction after the debacle of the Bush administration.

Anyone who has done any reading on Iran knows that it has been the most pro-American Moslem state in the region for quite some time. It's rather a shocking fact, I know, but it has been mentioned multiple times over the last decade or so in quite a number of reports. Inconvenient, I know. People who only look at the bomb-Iran media possibly missed it, but otherwise it is well known. (A year or so ago there was some fool who was stupid enough to say on a thread here that there was no Iranian opposition to their government.)

Careful

Too much smugness here.

Not an Obama hater.

But the elephant in the corner of the room that no one is talking about here is that Iran's supreme leader Khamani and its president Amadinjad are just about as creepy as any neo con said they were.

Notice any policy change by Iran's government since Bush is gone from office? No - you don't .

It wasn't Bush, it was the nature of Iran's leaders. While no doubt the axis of evil speech wasn't helpful and it probably even harmful to US interests, it wasn't cause it was factually wrong , it was just that there are times when you shouldn't just come out with the truth that way.

Tjames426 listed Obama's foreign policy blunders, and I dismissed the list as insultingly simplistic. dmbfan, that lover of truth, conceded its simplicity, but betrayed no doubts as to its veracity.

Quote:
allows the Chinese to attack a US naval vessel in international waters twice, does nothing.

This is curious since the Pentagon statement accused the Chinese vessels of having aggressively maneuvered in dangerously close proximity to the Impeccable (one Chinese vessel moved to within 25 feet of the US ship). Is it fair to describe this as an attack by the Chinese? Admiral Robert Willard, commander of the U.S. Pacific fleet, says this of the episode, "We are interested in it, but not concerned."

Quote:
allows a Chinese submarine to follow and damage the USS McCain, does nothing.

Nope, wrong again. The USS McCain was not damaged at all. Rather it was the sonar that it was towing behind it which the Chinese submarine collided into.

Quote:
Obama delays and delays before allowed elite Navy sharpshooters to kill pirates endangering a brave American ship Captain.

Media Matters shows how the story about Obama "delaying and delaying" is very dubious, and most likely had as its source an anti-Obama chain e-mail. http://mediamatters.org/research/200904210032

These are only the first three blunders he provided. Shall I continue?

Oh! I quite hope you answer this post dmbfan! Your evasions are such a source of amusement to me!!

Look at the post directly above mine there.

One thing I don't know if it is the genius of Obama or the stupidity of people in general , but I have noticed that he often gets a pass from the rest of the world on things that they used to criticize Bush for (Guantanamo, the Patriot act, wire taps ect.) Not complaining. If Obama can really charm the world this way then perhaps he is good for the US. Be is at it may it more and more it seems that Bush's policies were not the problem.

Still Obama hasn't had to go against world opinion to support US interests. If and when he has to , it will be interesting to see the results.

I think it's largely because people generally understand how difficult some of the policies are to reverse. I doubt they would be as understanding if Obama were the one to have done what Bush did - arguing for a strike on Iraq in 2002, creating Guantanamo, etc. It's true that his charisma goes a long way on the policies he's reluctant to reverse like releasing the remaining Abu Ghraib photographs, so that's definitely the Obama factor there.
