Gmarket. I furnished my new apartment by buying everything I needed on Gmarket. Got a bed, desk, chair, fridge etc. |

You could try Auction and Gmarket if your Korean is ok (Gmarket has an English website as well though), there are some Korean websites selling Ikea stuff (unfortunately often a lot more expensive than back home)- http://ikean.co.kr/ or http://weagookinmall.com/. You could also go for used furniture at http://www.t-recycle.co.kr/.
Just some suggestions. Good luck! |

You had to furnish your apartment? Did you have to pay for it? Mine came with everything brand new. |

Hi there-
I might have to do this in a few weeks to furnish a new apartment. What is needed to purchase on Gmarket? Alien number? Korean ID number (grr)? Passport only (since I might not have an alien card right away)?
Are the prices and variety the same on the English website and Korean website? Also, do they deliver?
Thanks! |

gmarket does have an english site, and you will need your arc to sign up for it. You can transfer money straight into an account that they will set up for you. It is pretty simple. But if you need help with it, let me know or another user, my husband, polonius. We will help you out setting it up.
And they do deliver, depending on the product and price, there may be an extra delivery fee. |

Looking at the regestration form you only need your ARC to sigh up if you are going to use a korean credit card |

I took the housing allowance my new job offered and got my own place. Since it was a villa, it didn't come furnished. So I had to buy everything myself. |
