I'm currently a dealer at a casino in Iowa. While I know it is illegal to do privates, I would like to deal a shift or two a week to keep myself sharp while I'm away.
Is that legal? |

It depends on your visa.
On an E-2 it is illegal. |

I'll pass it up though as it's illegal.

You could always arrange private games with other foreigners...just don't post about it on Facebook... |

And if you find yourself with a Korean girlfriend while you are running private games, don't break up with her. |

The dealers in the casinos are 100% Korean and all professionals. |

Just curious what level are you, dealer? supervisor? pitbox? What games do you deal. (I did blackjack, baccarat, roulette as well as the slots and a little cage work (small casino so we were all multi trained).
You would be surprised at the skill level of some of the Koreans, We had a lot of koreans working at the my casino back in NZ, plus I knew a few that worked on some of the island resorts and Marco (sp).
Oh and the casinos here only hire people fluent in Korean as a large proportion of their clientel are korean (yes it is foreigner only but anyone with a green card can get in and lots of koreans have green cards) |

I think this Iowan is going to be in store for some culture shock. Forget dealing cards, you need to worry about korean boss keeping you longer than 6 months or not stealing your money. |
