In before someone comes to this thread, doesn't read the OP properly, and posts "In before ban".

Free, free and free.

Why? To teach you Korean, someone needs to speak clear, articulate English. Grab a grad student from just about anywhere. There seem to be loads who find teaching Korean in English an equal trade: you learn Korean, they speak English with a native speaker for x hours a week. Craigslist is your friend.

If you don't want to spend extra time speaking your native language to someone...

I paid 20k/hour 3-4 years ago out of Seoul but the teacher had a phD... from a Korean uni.

Yeah I wouldn't pay too much. Maybe 10,000 won if it's someone casual who doesn't know what they're doing. You are in Korea after all. As a student, I did the "conversation partner" thing in America with Korean students and they were not eager to pay more than $10 an hour usually - but hey, it beat my other jobs.

Yea what I ended up doing was doing a language exchange on top of that class... but what I had to do was say every class right at the start if we were gonna start with English only or Korean only and then how much time.
