I'm heading home in a couple of months and figure I should probably buy new glasses here before I go. I've done a search on the site and found that the Namdaemun area is recommended for buying glasses, however I can't find any actual stores that have been recommended. Is there a good place to buy glasses in Namdaemun or Itaewon that anyone can recommend? I don't speak much Korean and I probably should get my eyes tested for a new prescription too.
Thanks for any help.

You can find optometrists on every corner. The prices are very good unless you want to buy designer brands. Don't worry about it. |

I recently bought glasses at a Homeplus and the experience was a good one. They were cheap (about 100 dollars - I got the thin lenses, so yours might be even less) and the whole process from order to pick up took 20 minutes. Unbelievable.
I did bring my prescription and my old glasses with me though. I have no experience with taking the eye test in Korea.

I hear contacts are similarly cheap. Anyone have advice on buying them? |

You can get frames and lenses for 40,000-60,000 total at the optomitrist on the corner, or even in subway stations they will have places set up. |
