I wonder what indians think of westerners who kill cows with electrolysis and dissect them? they must be appalled.
I'm not against anyone eating dogs- I have- so long as they are kept and treated humanely- which they obviously aren't here.
Overall, i'm far more concerned about the cruelty being inflicted on wild animals and birds worldwide through loss of habitat, hunting, pollution, and illegal trade in animal products...its of much greater significance to our planet than the plight of a lot of domestic animals. In my opinion, all the money used to provide homes for old horses, stray cats etc would much better be used to help the cause of conserving threatened species.
we are destroying the world's biodiversity, breaking the essential chain of life, link by link.
Domesticated cats and dogs run wild, are a big threat to the worlds ecosystems. I'd have no problem with a massive and comprehensive cull of domesstic/feral cats in australia, for example. They've virtually wiped out a big variety of native birds and mammals. |

That was f*cking bad news. I knew it happened but I'd never seen a video like that before.
For me it's not that they are eaten, it's the conditions and the treatment, particularly the inhumane ways of killing that are often slow, and the boiling of cats. Can't they be bothered to kill the cat before they boil it? |

Kudos to the maker of that video. I like his talk of there being NOTHING in Korean culture about abusing and eating domestic animals such as dogs and cats. As an answer to the protective excuse, 'it's Korean culture'.
They torture the dog to get its glands to pump out adrenaline into the blood which the consumer will ingest via the meat. It's all about the consumer.
I'd adopt a cat, but I'm hardly ever home so the cat would go bonkers. |

My avatar has something to to with who i am itaewonguy?
Thats hilarious my man.
By the way, they can treat you for that outrage on overdrive you know.
As for the dogs, equal outrage should be reserved for cattle and poultry who are not treated much better then good ole pooch there.... |

I don't like unncessary cruelty inflicted on any animal. However, one should keep in mind how much cruelty is hidden from our view with regards to any animal killed for meat anywhere in the world. It has become much more methodical in this modern age but only slightly more sanitized.
Perhaps Koreans should take a closer look at how they kill dogs, but what about our nations raising veal or chickens? Just something to keep in mind when expressing moral outrage, as back here in Canada I see few people expressing moral outrage about animal farms except the more-than-slightly kooky PETA people. |

IM serious man..
you know psychologically when selecting an Avatar you select something with a little help from "The subconscious" . you find something you like! something that you can relate to!
So the metamorphosis of the psychosis moment which helps select the avatar, comes from an elemental, hidden deep down in your psyche.
therfor producing something which relates to you!!!
you see its the same as selecting art!!
same as selecting anything. there is a deep down hidden place which relates to it..
dont get me started on art!
you my friend!! are part HOMER SIMPSON!! |

The are many things I truly love about Korea, but I will never get over the way Korea treats animals. |

i watched the videos and saw no evidence of any serious animal abuse. there was no proof of the cat boiling he referred to. the animals that were killed were killed in a manner that is standard the world over. just because an animal is twitching does not mean it is alive.
the housing of animals was bad. but no worse than battery hens and intensive piggeries in western countries.
in short - the video is a dud.
i am against cruelty to animals - i am a veterinarian myself and have seen plenty of it. but that site presents no documentary evidence of any serious abuse occuring in korea.
oh - and the section on chinese "atrocities" is a joke. it is not an atrocity to break up a dead carcass.
who IS the fool who made this video? does he post here? |
