Workwise.
I'm curious. I've heard a dozen different theories, most pretty unsavory.
But is it more likely that they're just factory workers and mechanics...?
No one I speak to seems to know. |

I know that plenty of them are in export, particulary second hand parts for motor bikes and cars, things like that.
But yes there are quite a few dealers too, I personally know of one that was deported.

The ones I met in Kwangju were all factory workers.
Two of them had a racket where they bought stolen motorcycles, sent them to Nigeria in a shipping container, and had their family sell them there. |

Employer: seoul
Job Title: Military dealership
We don't ask your status of VISA but you must be willing to work 3 days in a row. you will mainly translate the documents and do some on-spot interpretation with the dealers.
Payment WON 750,000/day
call Robert at 011-298-3620
-----------------------------------------------------
I would DEFINATELY NOT APPLY for this job - they might probably bump you off on the third day - rather than actually pay you 2,250,000 won for 3 days work? (I see they advertise each month for a new person - so I always wondered what happened to the last/former person?)
I also wonder exactly what weapons they are exporting and to where? |

Most of them work. I would't want to be judged based on what many of "my fellow Americans" are doing here in Korea, so please don't lump folks into one category. The Nigerians I have met work in 'plastics molding', textiles export (fabric), second hand clothing export (huge business in many African countries), barbershop, restaurant owners, etc.
I said to one Nigerian, "I hear there are many Nigerians selling bags in Beiing." His reply was, "Nigerians would not sell bags on the street. Must have been Liberians."
Only thing in common they would have with Russian 'prostitutes' would be English...if the Russian 'prostitute' speaks English, or the Nigerian speaks Russian. If that's the link they have...it's pretty weak.
Drugs? There wouldn't be sellers if there weren't buyers. |

The ones I met worked in textile export. And then one of them was a model and a basketball player. He danced behind Korean women in advertisments for workout clothes. I thought I told you that. |

There is a cheesy theme park in Namyangju by the name of "African village'. several Nigerians are employed there to play bongos, dress up in grass suits and dance about for the Koreans...a bit sad really as i know Africa to be quite different. |

Every Nigerian I've ever met has told me that most Africans in Korea aren't actually from Nigeria. |

You've said many things.
This may have been one of them...
...but I don't think so.

I knew one guy from Nigeria.
He was in Korea on the pretext of doing some missionary work.
Related to one of the bigger churches here, he spent most of his time teaching English.
So here is another answer to the question.
Some of the Africans you meet (Nigerian or not) are here working as English teachers. |
