I've wondered about this a number of times. I would guess most school contain asbestos. What about apartment buildings? I'm sure they do too. Is asbestos now illegal in Korea and only old buildings will contain it?

How dangerous is asbestos?

It's used to fireproof construction materials, and I don't think it hurts you just by being in the walls, but if they are doing any construction that would release asbestos dust into the air, breathing in that dust can injure your lungs and cause cancer.

Korea is WAY BEHIND other modernised countries..

I remember way back in the early 1980's when the dangers about Asbestos were publicised..

that the government in Australia ripped down destroyed and got rid of any schools that contained asbestos..

They covered the whole building in a protective plastic wrap and sent guys in in saftey suits to destroy and dispose of the buildings

They had to dispose of everything securely - so nobody would ever breathe in that rubbish again..

after which they built new asbestos free buildings..

They also paid teachers etc who had worked in those buildings compensation...

that was 25 years ago!

Miraculous Korea!

Australian Schools are not as free from asbestos as Socks thinks. Action only seems to be taken to remove asbestos in schools when the materials become unstable .. & even then it appears without an appropriate degree of urgency.

It does as much as good yogurt does. Kimchi was shown to have probiotics the same as yogurt, so it does have some gut benefit. Just not as much as some people think....

Don't try to confuse them with your logic...
