I've had desktops built for me in Yongsan twice. No complaints, and most of the guys there can speak some English...besides, many of the words are cognates and that's all you really need to know. Just make sure you double check everything before you haul it away.

And they have English language Windows/Office to install at yongsan, too.

I've gotten more high end systems built for me but with the monitor and all the fixins' I never paid more than 600.

That's a good idea. Where exactly is this Yongsan place? Is it in Seoul? And if not where is a good place in Seoul to look to find a comparable place?

Thanks.

My husband got a computer from Dell Korea last November. He did the email exchange thing, and his laptop ended up being really decently priced since the person he communicated with did some free upgrades and stuff.

It can't hurt to send the Dell Korea people an email saying what you're looking for, and even letting them know what you think it might be priced (build it on the US and then convert to won)? They might make a decent offer, especially in this economy. If it's not good enough, just let them know you're no longer interested.
