Ya know it doesn't. However! In two months I'm buying a trombone. Anyone interested in a community band please contact me. I haven't played since highschool personally but I was solid. |

I guess you're moving to a big city, else you wouldn't even ask. Your best bet is a church. If you're not Christian, but you want to perform, you might have to bite it. Flutist here too, btw. |

Bring the flute. If it was a tuba, I'd hesitate, but what have you got to lose? It fits in the overhead. You're success at finding a community orchestra of foreigners is doubtful, but I don't think you will find it hard to join a Korean musical group that would be glad to have you. I was asked to join a local group in my town as a trumpet player and I am not even a very good trumpet player.
Your other option is to start something yourself. Good luck. |

There will be something like that - church or university. You shouldn't have a problem with finding one.
Good luck! |

You can check out this meetup group: http://www.meetup.com/The-Seoul-Creative-Musicians-Circle/. It's a group of us, Koreans and foreigners, who get together bi-weekly and jam. Some of us are good, some of us are just beginning, but it's definitely a lot of fun. The emphasis is on jamming together and improvising, but we have occasional times of showcasing your own work, etc. |
