|
|
I'm trying to organize some audio books in iTunes. Because the program made the track listing all wacky, I need to put the tracks in order. I'll try to describe the problem as succinctly as I can...
On iTunes the track numbers look like this:
D1 01 Introduction
D2 01 Chapter 7
D3 01
D4 01 Chapter 14
D5 01
D1 02 Chapter 2
D2 02 Chapter 7
D3 03
D4 02 Chapter 15
D5 02
So what I did was make 5 playlists, Discs 1-5, and organize them that way. However, I'm wondering if there is an easier way to organize it on the main iTunes page rather than manually separating the tracks into Disc playlists. Is there? Or do I have to manually organize files every time if I have a problem?
Another example of a problem is this:
Circe-01
Cyclops -01
Nausicaa- 01
01- Telemachus -01
03-Proteus- 01
01- Telemachus -02
So obviously they are being organized first by numbers, then alphabetically. On my computer, the files are in order, but that doesn't translate to iTunes. So, same question: is there some way to have iTunes put the files in order as soon as they are transferred from my computer? |

In iTunes, select the files, and right click on them, then select 'get track names' from the menu. iTunes should automatically rename the files with the correct metadata. If that does not work you can input the metadata by yourself either manually in itunes, or through using another program.
I've not used this, but it seems to solve the problem you have.

It all comes down to adding the meta data, which is not always already there. iTunes uses meta data to sort the files by title, artist, album, etc. And it's like this for about every digital file. |

Thanks^^ I just spend three hours organizing one audio book! Before I started doing that, I went on the iTunes 'help' website, and it didn't even help me as much as you have! |
