I am considering a position at YBM Apgujeong "Appletree". Has anyone had experience with this place? I realize YBM is a chain, and that each school is pretty much independent of the main office.

Did you ever accept the position? I'm being offered a job at the same location. Insight would be fantastic.

Here's what sucks about working at a chain school in an affluent area: Usually your pay is the same as if you work in a cheap area, but your cost of living is much higher, especially if housing isn't provided.

I worked for YBM I.A. and I know some people who worked for YBM Appletree in Seocho. They liked their jobs and from what I understand had little complaints. However, please be aware that Appletree is not a language institute so much as it is a daycare no matter what the school tells you. The children can be as young as 18 months and typically no older than 4 years old. The older children (Kindergartenand up) go to PSA or another YBM location.

It's not a bad job. Apgujeong is a great place to live.
