anyone know of any lumber yards in or around eastern seoul? lookin' for small to large blocks of high quality wood suitable for carving and sculpture.

I've never seen it in Seoul. Imagine there must be some place online you could order any kind of wood you need, but I'm sure it will ALL be expensive, just like anything else in this country, especially imported wood.

i've made friends with the ajjushis at the local granite yard (made myself a pizza stone and a samgyupsal stone) and the local metal fabricator (random b its and pieces of things i needed).

the used/flea market by sindang station has a bunch of stalls selling all kinds of wood/lumber
