I am on vacation this week and want to do some diving in Korea. I live in Seoul and want to make periodic trips to the coast. Can anyone recommend a good dive centre? I have my own equipment so basically i just have to pay for the air.

Also, does anyone else here do diving? I would like to start a group of people who want to go diving on a regular basis.

Since we're on the topic, I might as well ask for help.

I run "Scuba In Korea". The idea has always been to share dive info with the dive community here in Korea. It is (or was when I started out) difficult to get any info re: diving in English for South Korea.

Anyway, I get LOTS of divers ASKING for info, but I get almost zero info back from them.

If you find a good shop that offers good service (preferably in English, but not necessary) please send it to me so I can post it and share it with others.

What I REALLY need is any information on dive shops/clubs in the southern part of the country (especially Busan). I get a lot of divers in the shark dive program from Busan asking about other dive opportunities in Busan and I have very little info to give them.

I am going to try and get my PADI license while I am here. I've never dived before, but I plan on moving to Guam eventually so I figure I might as well get my license while I am here.

completely OT, but is there a place to surf in Korea?

Hey Allen Smile

I can second Aquatic Frontier...the best expat club in Korea, as far as I can tell. Well-maintained gear, cool people, organized trips.

Come out to Uljin on the NE coast. A coteacher and I go to a diving school everySaturday & Sunday. We go far out in different areas.

Atm we see 200 lbs jelly fish, ictopuses, and gather sea cucumbers. After the event we go to the bar. Your welcome to join. Besides Je-Ju, we have the best waters to dive in.

I run "Scuba In Korea" which is a dive info directory for divers here in Korea.

Could you PM with with more info (web site, email, telephone, details about dive sites)? I'll post it on my site so people can find it.

Thanks!
