When I get on XBL it immediately gives me a message saying that some functions aren't available but they will pop up as soon as they become available. I then get the status code 80072746. This has been happening for over a month, so I know it's not a temporary issue that will be worked out. I have spent about 6-8 hours trying to fix this, called Microsoft for about 3 hours, etc. Does anyone know what I can do? Please give me suggestions. I've probably tried most of them, but I'd love to hear something. |

Has it ever worked completely?
When I hooked up my xbox through a router it seemed to fix the problem. I used to have similar problems, but a router allowed the connection to stay 'on' so the ISP would allow the traffic, or something like that... |

It worked only one time, a couple of weeks ago, but at that time I wasn't trying to access the marketplace, I only knew that the dashboard somehow looked different, and when it got fixed that one day, I realized what it was. I recently got Halo 3 and want to play it with my friends back home, but am unable to because I need the update, but I can't access it. |

How do you connect your Xbox to the internet? A direct connection or via router?
If you don't have a router you can pick a cheap one up from any electronics store for around 20,000 won, and it's worth it. If you already have one, I dunno. |

Call KT. I think they have to whitelist the MAC address of your Xbox.
I had trouble getting my Wii to work a few months back, but when I called KT they said they had no solution. However, they said that they had a method for the Xbox.
Give it a shot. |

Do you know where I can find their number? The guy who installed my modem gave me his card but I'm pretty sure I lost it. I assume their English is decent if you got through to them, or can you speak Korean well? I sure can't, so I hope they can speak English. |

I use KT and had the same problem. You could call them and have a really awkward conversation and try have them fix the addresses, or you can just go buy a router, and if that does not work then call as a last resort. I had the same problem and just simply having a router keep the connection live was all I needed. |

I am having the same problem. I just bought a router but that did nothing. How do I get an alternative mac adress or disable it? KT is useless too, I just want to play live damnit! |

From what I can tell, Microsoft (at least the bottom-level lackeys) know there's a problem, but don't know any solution. I'm going to try to hook up to a router tomorrow, but I don't have much hopes. I plan to call Microsoft again this week and continue in my dialogue with them, but if this doesn't get fixed soon look for a WTS: Xbox, coming soon. |

I dunno, that's strange. I imagine KT would be able to help if you get the right person. Just keep on calling until you get someone whom can communicate with you and is helpful.
Some routers will have a "Xbox Live" symbol on them to let you know they are fully compatible with xbox live, although I've not heard of any router not being xbox live friendly, but i'm not an expert on the matter.
I bout "NEXT-815V Gold" from yongsan for around 20,000, and it has a big 'xbox' and 'playstation' logo on the outside of the box... That was all that I needed to automatically fix my xbox live situation. But it sounds like vickings problems are more complicated. |
