Lot's of threads from Daves get translated, usually the ones that talk about Korea and often the negative ones...but not always. A thread on the best Asian movies has been translated into Korean, Japanese and Chinese.

I don't know why what we write on a message board becomes so interesting....probably cause we don't have our own press and there is no other way to find out what the waeguks are thinking....just curious (in a self obsorbed way) I guess. Perhaps if foreign folks had their own media outlet they would stop mining this pitiful resource for gems to translate and comment on.

Perhaps they should allow foreign people to work for their trash English papers...then we'd actually have something to talk about (and read).

From what I can see those translations are not complete. The translator is taking selections from each post, probably in an attempt to make them sound worse than they really are.

I don't care though if Koreans read what I wrote. They need to see how the rest of the world views them.

Products of Japan are good quality but too expensive for it's quality. And products of China are cheap but poor in quality.. In the end, Korea win.

Well the comments I've read so far complain about hordes of worthless parasitic low-class foreigners from imperialist countries descending on Korea and colonizing it, then giving their retarded opinions. And they're also sore about being described as 32nd in the world rather than 12th.

I think some of these people have seriously high blood pressure. They seem to love ranking everything, love talking about 'low class' and 'scum' in reference to ESL teachers, and are conscious of having been a victim of imperialism (understandably).

That said, if these comments are really representative, why do Koreans keep hiring foreigner teachers? I think, at least partly, this amount of vitriol is just par for the course on the Korean internet. On the other hand, it explains why the CRCs and AIDs tests came in.
