So after negotiations and arguements with my employer they have given me a termination letter. Now my question is How do we settle up final financial matters? My termination period coincides with my holidays, so I actually will not be in the country until the end of this period. By law they are supposed to pay me, but I have a feelng they won't. Do I give them my banking information for my home country and have them send the money? I can't use my Korean bank card out of the country, so that is no good. I am guessing they will not pay me before I leave.
As it stands now I paid a 900,000 deposit they are supposed to return.
They gave me 300,000 move in I have to repay.
I have about 500,000 in bills remaining on the apartment to be taken out of the 900,000.
For August, including holidays that fall during the termination period they will owe me 1.6 million won.
So I should be getting about 1.6 or 1.7 million. How do I go about requesting this? Ask for cash? Certified check? anything else?
Or basically I'm probably screwed and won't see my August pay. |

So are you coming bacnk to Korea? If so, get your money then.
If you're worried about your school screwing you, then I take it you don't have that great of a relationship with them, so I wouldn't think they would go out of their way to pay you with cash or anything else besides a transfer into your bank account.
If you won't be coming back and they won't pay you before you leave, sign up for a KEB remittance account before you go and set up internet banking for whatever bank you have now. Then all you have to do is transfer your money when they pay you into your KEB remittance account. KEB will then automatically transfer it into whatever account you used when you set up the account. |

Not sure, but I don't think they do. Just set up internet banking with KB and transfer your money into the KEB remittance account. There's no fee for transferring money between Korean banks when you use internet banking and I'm also pretty sure KEB charges less than KB to make a international wire transfer. |
