Fair enough, but back during my drinking days of college, I stupidly did 20 shots o' whiskey one night (probably had or came damn near to having alcohol poisoning)... no hangover...

Of course, it cleaned out my memory for the day before, day of, and day after the drinking binge... but that's different.

I always feel "jetlagged." I am a night owl and have to work a day schedule. It really sucks, but I have the tired feeling of struggling against my natural body clock all the time. So NA<>Korea jetlag almost allows me to catch up to my body.

I had a really bad experience in KL a few years ago...was jetlagged, felt like I was hungover, for a week...I was unable to think clearly or sleep at night at all...

Before leaving on a trip now, I try to sleep on the schedule of my "new" place, but life doesn't really allow for that. Of course, I will drink as much water as possible on the plane, but as I have a bladder the size of a dried pea, this tends to annoy the neighbors.

When I get to my destination, I try hard to have an appointment for a daytime event for the second day. A good reason to get up and be about and not give in to the temptation to sleep in. That night I will take something mild to sleep, like Benadryl. And in the morning I will use caffeine as necessary to wake myself up. This is the extent of my drug use - Benadryl and caffeine.

For the most part, my system works for me. Except when my plane was seriously delayed leaving Korea last summer. It still could have been okay, but I got very drunk on soju while we were waiting around the terminal to see what the plan was. Embarassed But I was able to shift my sleep to an appropriate schedule the first weekend.

Incidentally, I don't get hangovers either... must be related.

Nobody gets a hangover from one beer!

And why not ?

A hangover is related to alcohol ingestion and thus a single shot of whiskey could cause a hangover, half a beer could cause a hangover. The lighter you are in weight, the higher the risk of hangover in comparable ingestion volume to someone larger. It's an individual thing.

"Nobody" .... gotcha

Two things which work for me:

Don't drink alcohol.

Take cat naps, or a siesta, rather than going the full-monty.

Just give me a few days and I'm good to go.
