so, there r ups and downs to dating both types. u can show off a hot girl to ur friends and probably have some pretty insane sex.. but, be prepared to sacrifice ur wallet and ur own since of self importance, as u will be second fiddle to her and her needs. the more westernized girl by be less attractive but will be more loving and really make u feel comfortable with her. sex may get boring after a while though, but that gives u the opportunity to really spice things up, as since she was already open minded enough to get with foreigners, shes probably open minded enough to endulge ur bizzare fantasies.

It's the truth. Also Korean guys tend to have cars, and money, and of course no language barrier. You can't say you can really know someone or they you, if you can barely communicate.
For me those hot girls are good for NSA, nights out, partying, good sex, just play it cool and don't get involved in the drama, if you see her making out with another guy at the club you gotta just shrug it off, don't get involved. Not all hot girls will own and run you. If you have self confidence you can be party friends, maybe FWB.
And yes you will spend a shitload of money, clubs, VIP tables, etc. If a hot girl has to pay for a night out she's not hot. I've known some girls that compete to see how much they can get guy's to spend on them in one night. There are some Korean girls (cough Itaewon) that only date foreigner guys but only hot foreigner guys that have money. Money blurs the lines of any race or color... |

Sounds kind of depressing so far. Well I guess it's the same everywhere, hot girls have shitty personalities. I guess I could careless as long as she makes me drool everytime I look at her. I'll save "marriage material" till when I'm old. |

There is alot of excellent advice- but it comes down to how the guy comes across with the ladies. If he gives off the vibe that he is only here for the women and to get laid, the women out there will get that feeling and stay away from him.
And what happens if he doesn't get what he wants?
Will he become depressed?
Morning Star brought up a great point- most hot-looking girls usually gravitate toward men with money because they are the ones who would spend it on them without a second thought.
The "gongjus" want a man who has the money to pay for when they go shopping or who is willing to flip the bill for every outing. Also, status is very important- some women might date a foreigner, but if that foreigner is an ESL teacher, they might not give them the time of day.
Yes, the dating scene is an important factor when choosing a place to work in regards to ESL. But it shouldn't be the only factor. |

The definition of what is a pretty Korean girl differs by nationality. I've seen Caucasian guys go ga-ga over a girl whom I consider a failed genetic experiment.
Then I'll see a nice petite cute girl and then Caucasian guys will be like, "Nah, not my type, too skinny."
That said, getting a celebrity-grade beauty will be really hard for someone who isn't ethnically Korean or doesn't speak Korean. A lot of the hotties have PLENTY of suitors to choose from, many with deep pockets and fancy toys, and well, given the overall cheapskate nature of many an expat here, it doesn't bode well for your chances.
Another annoying thing is that the girls are usually into the cutesy and cheesy aspects of Korean pop culture, something most from the West simply cannot or won't get into. Then there's the issue of maturity, or lack thereof, on the part of these girls. |

Yeah, that's the kicker, you are basically guaranteed to have absolutely nothing in common with them. Avoid having dinner with them at all costs because it will be expensive and full of awkward silences as you will not have much of anything to talk about. |

The problem is that the financial means of an ESL teacher are quite limited compared to an office worker.
The average foreign ESL teacher's salary is usually capped at about 3.5-4 million won (those are VERY high-end places) while an office worker with about 5+ years with the same company could make about 5 million won.
We are good for a quickie (and for most of us, thats fine), but for a woman who wants to have a relationship, especially a so-called cutie, it might not be what she wants.
I prefer to hang out with my friends and buy round after round of drinks, at least I know my money is well spent.

I've dated some cute girls here, but nothing as hot as either of those. But then, im not the kind of guy who throws his money around. I'm not THAT bothered about having the hot girl on my arm to show off to my friends. But, if it didn't come at such a price, i wouldn't say no! |

Not unless you are incredibly charming.
One thing that guys often forget, is that for a girl to look that hot costs HER a LOT of money. Hair appointments, mani/pedis, makeup, jewelry, shoes, handbags, cute skirts and blouses, sexy underwear, this stuff is all freaking expensive! Not to mention plastic surgery...
If she can't score a guy who will drop money on her in return, why on earth would she bother?
