				| Hi, I am a newbie trying to research some of the positions I have been offered. One seems better than the others, and is in Bangbae-dong. After searching the site, there doesn't seem to be much talk about it (something about a French area?). Can anyone help? |

Yeah, there's a French area where last year they found two dead babies in the freezer, and after a lengthy investigation discovered they belonged to a French couple. Somehow the mom kept two pregnancies secret and gave birth then killed the kids.

Anyway, Bangbae is a fairly nice area not far from Gangnam. There are a lot of big roads and traffic is heavy, but you're not far from Umyunsan, a mountain with a minefield at the top. It's also a little richer than average. |

				| Bangbae-dong is rather boring, lots of cafes and sports massages. If you want nightlife, I'd say hit the subway and go on over to Gangnam station, you'll fare better there. |

				| Thanks for the help so far. If Bangbae is considered somewhat boring, how close is it to good nightlife? |

				| Very close to Gangnam and Apgujeong, Hongdae is a fair distance away, but it's at least on the same subway line. Itaewon isn't close, but its not far either. |

				| From Bangbae you can just catch the 406 right to Itaewon. |

				| I also searched for Alphabet Street English Institute (the school I am considering) and couldn't find much. Is anyone familiar with them? Thanks again for the help and any other info on Bangbae would be appreciated. |

				| Bangbae's decently close to Itaewon, isn't it? Other than having a lot of furniture shops, bangbae is like dozens of other non-descript neighborhoods in Seoul. Neither good nor bad. It's right in the city and not out near the sticks, so I'd be fine with living there. |

The 406 bus takes you NEAR Itaewon, but you have to walk for about 10-15 minutes uphill to get to Itaewon. And the bus comes like every 15-20 minutes, and sometimes more. |

That school is about a 5 minute walk from the subway station and has been in operation for at least the last two years. That's all I know about it though as I've only seen it out the bus window.

Bangbae dong is a nice neighborhood. Nothing special. I work there but live in Shinchon. By subway it is about 35 minutes to Hongdae and Shinchon; both of which are known for their nightlife. Going the otherway, Gangnam is about 10 minutes away and also has a good nightlife. |

if you're a soju or beer person, gangnam or hongdae area'd suit you.

if you're a wine or sake person, bangbaedong'd be just fine. |

Bangbaedong is like Gangnam: overpriced, overrated and overly boring. |
