Sounds kind of depressing so far. Well I guess it's the same everywhere, hot girls have shitty personalities. I guess I could careless as long as she makes me drool everytime I look at her. I'll save "marriage material" till when I'm old. |

I'm not talking about naturally beautiful women, I'm taking about the kind of girls the OP posted example pictures of. That is not "natural beauty," they have obviously put a lot of time and money into looking that way. |

Personally, I never paid for jack s-- except for a drink at the bar and that was a round for me and her. Oh, and cab fare, but why would I not pay to drive back to my place?
Other than that, if you are laying down serious coin, you are an idiot. Like the others said, you are a fashion accessory, so she should be happy to be with you as well. Hot girls are a dime a dozen in Korea, unlike in the U.S. where there is a somewhat shortage (unless you have low standards or live in Manhattan).
If you are a typical korean guy who her parents might want her to marry, then you lay down the card to show her your a provider. But unless this girl is a bilingual almost-gypo you are not... you are a summer fling, a story fit giggling about with friends at her coffee club. So why are you paying? To show what? In America, that is an AFC (average frustrated chump) move and even more so in Korea. |

i would have to say 'i doubt it'.
first of all, being a whitey in korea is not like being a whitey in thailand. you're not special, and while you'll be welcomed by the locals as a source of english, you probably won't be liked or respected. this is just the way korea is.
having said that, there are ways around it.. learning some korean, and not being an english teacher or a GI are very helpful in that regard.
especially, learn some korean: its a controversial point but it is well-established that 95% of the pretty ones don't speak english. why? because they don't need to. in fact, they don't need to do anything. anyone in seoul will tell you this, except for korean girls who speak english, of course! |

I will agree, many pictures of korean women are beautiful and many are just as beautiful in person...but I guarantee you one thing....99% of them when they wash of their make-up...you will run away scared!
They look totally different and very unappealing. Just downright ugly most of them without makeup. |

Go have a round with the lads and lasses. You'll be happy, have more money, and actually stand a better chance of getting a good girl than chasing like a squirrel. I've dated some very attractive girls in Korea and didn't pay for it. It's all about a connection. I also dated some girls who weren't that hot..but it's all about connection, again. Goes both ways. If you go looking for a girl who only looks good on your arm, you're in for a head ache, and just because a girl is eye candy doesn't mean she doesn't have a heart. Learn to see what's really beautiful about a girl (whatever that may be) before you start throwing your won around to impress her...I say never throw cash around. If you can take her out for samgyup sal and soju and have a ripping time with her then she might be a good one.
PS, there is a saying among Korean girls. If you can't get a boyfriend cause you just aren't that hot, date a white man. |

Yeah, ditto, I've noticed that the nights when I go to a bar actively looking at girls and hoping to score, also tend to be the nights when I strike out.
The nights when I just go out to have a drink and a good time with my buddies are the nights when a girl will come talk to me and then end up going home with me. This holds true for both the k's and the way's, by the way. |
