my friend made an indie film and has been wanting to get it seen in korea for quite some time.
the next step for him is to hire a translator to do the subtitles or the dubbing, and while we both have a few people in mind, he wants to give a wage offer that isn't insulting to someone who does this kind of work.
does anyone have an ide of what a ball-park hourly wage for a translator is these days?

Translators charge by the word for printed text. And it is pretty expensive. I had a reference letter written by my school principal translated for admission to a graduate program in the States. About one page.. I think I paid around 50,000 KRW. But many have different rates depending on the direction of the translation

| Hey, indie films are done on shoe-string budget. Do it Korean style; pay with soju. |
