| Cloudy bay is nice, but not as nice as their sister place in Aus called Cape Mentelle. I still think Aussie wines are best bang for buck. In Korea buy Grant Burge. |

Cape Mentelle is better and cheaper. Aussie wines are cheaper, but glut in the industry has forced many winemakers bankrupt and Fosters are selling off a lot of drought stricken and debt ridden vineyards. This is really a good thing as too many wines have been mass produced and flooded the market.
Bang for your buck. Well, You can get good Italian red wines such as Montepuliciano or South African Pinotage for 30,000 a bottle at good wine shops such as Jell wines or Les Vins Mael. They tend to be less high alcohol, jammy fruit and over extracted as Aussie reds.
For white wine a recommend Hugel Gentil or Donna Fugata Anthila. Hugel is about 20,000 won and Donna Fugata is about 32,000 at good wine shops. |

| Do they still sell that 3 dollar red wine at GS and Homeplus? I don't even remember what the hell it was called... mediocre obviously, but on a day to day basis I don't care. I got a lot of mileage out that stuff, it was a blessing for a cheapskate who likes to have two glasses every evening with dinner. I'll be a happy man if I see it upon my return next month. |

If you CAN drink two buck chuck then it costs about 15,000 to 20,000 won a bottle of Villa M or Yellow Tail crap in a seven eleven or supermarket. Inflation has hit Korea hard in the last year. Why pay this when you can get better everyday drinking stuff for 20,000 to 30,000 a bottle in a good wine shop?

Damn! Well, then at least won't feel so guilty for buying the good stuff. |
