Saw it last night at COEX. Really good. A little forced at times but still a great Pixar release. |

Are animated films generally dubbed? We went to see this tonight and learned that it was dubbed at the local CGV (in Pohang). Pretty disappointed, since we try and see most of the English language movies that come through town. |

Unfortunately many of the animations are dubbed. Some theaters play both the dubbed and subtitled. I did the same thing when Shrek came out. A lot of times the theaters do not even say if the movie is dubbed or not too.
However in this case the movie 'Up' will show up as dubbed in some of the postings in Korea movie times http://koreamovietimes.com:
>>>(Up => Language: English ( 업 )
Show Time: (Korean Subtitles), 09:25 13:20 18:00<<<
or
>>>Up => Language: English ( 업 )
Show Time: , 11:30 13:30<<<
= the first being subtitled... so probably in English. The second says nothing, so I would guess it is dubbed. But... their is no way to know for sure unless you call and ask or see for yourself.
Unfortunately this week there is no listing for Pohang. I wish I could help with that, but their is nothing I can do.

You can ask them if it is dubbed. Most theatres will specify if it has subtitles or not, and most places will show films in their original language and subtitles.
I saw Up last weekend. It was ok. Not Pixar's best work but decent. The first ten or so minutes of the movie was the best. Some of the jokes are too obvious and at times forced. I think Nemo and Wall-E are far superior to this movie. |
