walk then swim???

Flights from seoul prob wouldn't be too bad if you could get them cheap enough considering what you would pay for the ktx or bus to busan and then the ferry to jeju.

Flying is definitely the cheapest way to get there. Jeju Air or Eastar Air should get you there and back for 200,000 max, probably 150,000 if you find a deal.

Rather than Busan (11 hours) get the boat from Mokpo, on the west coast, after getting the train from Seoul. Just 3-4 hours on both the train & boat. From memory, the Jeju bound boat leaves twice daily from Mokpo, around 8:00 am & 2:00 pm.

Quote:
"Pink Dolphin: Mokpo Departure 8:00am → Jeju Arrival 11:10am
Jeju Departure 2:00pm → Mokpo Arrival 5:10pm
Operates Daily. Adults: ₩45,200
3hrs. 10min."
