From what I've heard, it's pretty hopeless...especially with the men.
So when you meet other ESL teachers, are they all pretty ugly? Just wondering. |

I don't mean to offend, but these threads of yours are making you sound really shallow! |

No offense taken. How am I shallow? I'm merely doing what nature intended. |

are you a man or woman?
I'd say generally speaking the men are marginally better looking than their western female conterparts , mostly because there are less fatsos.
don't believe me? take a weeklong count on subway or look around during your next ps orientation.
that said - other than that, it all varies. You'll find ugly, attractive and somewhere in between from both sexes.
it also depends where.
for e.g. my visual senses kept being assaulted on the subway seeing these very large and pasty female "creatures", it almost skewed my thinking but then I went into a certain Itaewon lounge where most of the Western girls were young, nonfat and generally hot. |

Good looking man means to me was this....
Man with intellectual looking with well educated background and also grow up in normal family, it's important to grow up in normal healthy/loving family, not someone who grow up in a broken family and also he who has a vision for his professional future/family.
How handsome he looks, that kind of things were NEVER important to me.
I guess everybody have different taste, isn't ? |

From what I've seen, men who have a non-ESL job that pays 3-4X more generally are in more demand than your average ESLer.
I was hanging with some friends at Gecko's a few weeks ago and there was this dude who thought he stepped right out of a fashion magazine. He was what women would consider good looking (blonde hair, blue eyes). In walks this older looking guy with 3 young but extremely hot looking girls. Now the dude went up to the table hoping to score with one of the lovelies there. He said hi to the guy and tried to strike up a conversation with one of the girls, but she nor any of her friends were going to give the guy the time of day. So, he was struck down- point bank.
I met the guy a few days later and he told me that he was a senior administror at Yongsan. He also boasted that since his divorce from his Japanese wife, he, at times, had to beat the girls off with a stick because they became so clingy.
Many young girls tend to go for the older guy because they seem to be down to earth and many of them have their ducks in order compared to the young guys. Also, the stigma of an ESL teacher also tends to turn many women off because it is considered a dead-end job with no promotional opportunities, except to possibly go from public school to a university or college later in one's career.
But then there's the dilemma of trying to find a non-ESL job in Seoul. It is possible, but many want years of experience before even considering a person.

Money comes and goes in one's life, I've never cared about money.
I am almost 170 Cm, but he shouldn't have to be taller than me, again I never cared that kind of stuffs.
However I've married once to a guy who had everything, I mean everything, he was a movie star looking |

Just because a guy wears a suit and is well groomed, doesn't mean he is well educated or an intellectual. How would you, MissSeoul, say an intellectual person looks? Is it visible?
The child can't possibly choose where he comes from. He can't help if his parents got divorced. (I'd rather BE from a broken home, than IN one...) I understand you don't want to marry a freak whose dad went to prison, but just because the guy's parents are freaks, it doesn't make them freaks too!
MissSeoul, you seam very superficial, and not just from this thread, but from another one where you went on about how well you ranked in school. Don't brag. |

One's face tell a lots things, it tells you what he has in inner side and who he is...etc. Well educated intellectual people show these stuffs on their faces, you can't pretend/fake this stuffs, it has to come out naturally from your inner side. It's nothing to do what you wear or how well you wear.
True, one can't choose his/her parent and these day so many people divorce ( more than 50 % of all marriage in America ) and many great people come from broken families. I don't know I may be a little off balance with this one.
One of my brothers married to a girl who came from broken family, her father abused her mother physically and her brother killed himself.
She is a beautiful and college educated, but she has serious emotional problem, now the rest of my family including myself don't want to do anything with her, we are just hoping/waiting the day that my brother's marriage finally end as divorce, it's that bad !! |

Shouldn't you have capitalized 'FROM' instead? |
