LG BL40

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyOlByIIRck

This phone is the new hotness.

LG BL40 will come with an exciting 4" touchscreen display with cinema aspect ratio of 21:9 and a resolution of 800x345 pixels. It will run what a revamped S-class UI and will sport 3G connectivity with 7.2Mbps HSDPA.

A scratch-resistant glass will make sure that your new Black Label handset keeps its excellent looks for a long time. Multi-touch, Wi-Fi an FM transmitter, and about 335MB of free onboard storage (easily rectified with a huge microSD card, of course). A-GPS are among the other confirmed specs.

The camera is 5 megapixels strong with Schneider Kreuznach optics

Software looks mighty familiar to another phone/itouch I know of. I guess now that Palm is not paying attention to the patents LG won't either...

Think it might be to big to be a dude phone though, as it won't fit in one's pocket. So I don't think it will sell well in the western world because of that fact alone. As most western men outside of major cities don't carry a bag around with them.

Sexy though.

And how much will you pay for internet connectivity?

How many usable apps will be in their app store?

I hardly believe the wifi will be free.

I think the point of the phone is that it'll come with all the basic apps you need for a cell phone. I don't think its suppose to go head to head to Smart phones like blackberries.

I'm sure the wifi would be free. If it is going through SK telecom, then SK doesn't have the wifi infrastructure to make peopel subscribe to a service ala Nespot.

Also, there are many places that DON'T get any Wifi, so SK doesn't have to worry about having Wifi for free (on buses and subways for example).

I'm sure the Data usage would be pretty expensive.

If it actually does do free wifi, then I will bet you things like the capability to download/play .mp3 files taken from anywhere but their paid service will not be allowed.

I have an Ipod Touch, and I see more free/open wifi routers around town than I do Nespot. Nespot is a loser. It's not what it was 2 years ago.

That's a negative. The LG ARENA is the iPhone clone.

No doubt the iPhone's UI revolutionized cell phones. Why wouldn't other companies copy it? Its very easy to use and its very intuitive. No need to reinvent the wheel.
