|
|
My director is very concerned that I carry my passport with me all the time. He suggested I make a photocopy to carry and leave the original at home in a safe place. He's worried that it could be stolen.
Does anyone know if it's okay to produce a photocopy of my passport as ID if I'm asked for it?
Or is my director worrying unnecessarily?
My thought on carrying either my passport(when not in transit) or a large amount of cash has always been that I am the only person who knows it's in my bag. As long as I'm not flashing it, how will anyone know to target me? |

Ummmm, why are you carrying around your passport instead of your ARC? Have you not gotten your ARC yet?
Your director is probably right, you should not be carrying around your passport because it could get stolen, not because they want your passport, but because your passport is in your bag and people steal bags and purses for the other goodies. |

No, I don't have my ARC yet. Next week. So, I should just carry the ARC? Or should I carry the ARC and a photocopy of the passport? |

Well, you should always have a photocopy of your passport around, whether at home or in a purse or something, just incase. You never know. It's just safer.
As for the targetting, sometimes people just need to steal the bag to find out, don't you think? |

Yes, I suppose that's true. I'm not so good at thinking like a thief. :^(
I'll add making extra photocopies of the passport to my to-do list.
Thanks for the advice! |

No probs. I don't think I know how many times I was told by my family and friends to have two photocopies if not more. :p
Also handy for even if you just lose it (never know). |
