Truthfully, I owe this country everything. This country has given me a wife and children and employment. If I had stayed in my country, there's a good chance I wouldn't have had any of those opportunities. By Western standards, I'm an ugly loser.
So I would like to take this time to thank South Korea. Thank you, South Korea for giving me so much. |

Rubbish! I provide a service for which I receive a paycheck. I owe nothing to Korea. Korea owes me
a refund for some VAT charges, but that's hardly worth hijacking a thread over. |

ask not what korea can do for you, but what you can do for korea...
if you can turn your fan off, when all about you are using theirs and laughing at you,
if you can push your way into the train while all around shout at you, and make no allowance for their pouting too,
if you're always late, but still get tired of waiting,
and beyond all doubt, love eating choco-pies,
and getting wasted, and feigning interest in figure skating,
and yet don't look too good, from drinking with the boss all night...
...you'll be an ajosshi, my son. |

From reading a bit of your blog, I assume you're in the military. Were you a teacher before joining? Or am I just reading it wrong and maybe you're a civilian working for the military? |

| I say a lot of bad things about Korea, but I've had a lot of fun here. I met my beautiful girlfriend in this country, and so no matter how bad things get, I'm always grateful. |

Now, I just read your blog. This, and that, all remind me of a guy who used to post on here years ago, who got into a lot of trouble.
If this is you, nice to see you again. I always got a kick out of your writing.
If this is not you, please disregard this message. |
