Does anyone know of a good place in Seoul to get French lessons. I've seen a number of ads for French people willing to give lessons, but I was hoping for someone with experience in teaching French as a second language.

I was ideally looking for small group lessons of some kind, but if that's not available I could do private lessons as well.

Has anyone found anything like this?

I'll withhold what I think of the French in this post, but if you want group classes, Alliance Francaise has a branch in Seoul.

moi aussi, je suis interesse.

I don't know why you seem to dislike the French. I lived there and found them to be quite alright (as long as you speak French, and you're not from England or the US).

Then you may say what you think of the Belgians, Senegalese, Swiss, etc. you know, all the other Francophones.

But thanks for the link anyway.

My French used to be excellent, before I started studying Korean. Turns out my brain can't handle both languages. I need a refresher course!

Anyone taken the Alliance Francaise classes? I'd be really interested as well, but from the website it seems like it's geared more towards Koreans who want to learn French.

Not from the U.S. or U.K., eh? I guess that rules out like 370 million people. Rolling Eyes

Check this site: www.macoree.com

They don't offer French classes, but you may find a lot of useful information, including French lessons... maybe.

It is a site for people who are interested in Korea, but everything is in French, except for a small part that's in Korean.

The guy who maintains the site is French and has been in Korea over a decade. Most people who use the forum section are French, but there are some Koreans, Canadians, Belgians, Americans, Swiss, and a few other nationalities once in a while. Not everyone using the forum is in Korea, but a lot are.

Bonne chance a tous!

Another option you might try is to go to www.goal.or.kr and post an ad for a French tutor. There are LEGIONS of French-speaking Korean adoptees looking for work in the country, but make sure their credentials check out because many did not go to college.

You could go to the French meet-up. Meetup.com has a bunch of people meeting up. I am not sure how good your French has to be. I always was too busy to go. They sometimes scheduled things at times when I just couldn't make it. I did want to go.

French is a terrible language.

Go learn German or Russian instead.

You lost all credibility by saying German.
