I got my crc through disclosures scotland, anybody in the UK can use them and get a basic disclosure for around 20. If you ask them to they will stamp and sign it for free which is the same as a notary and is recognised by the embassy for them to apostille.

Hope this helps

cheers for that, the problem is he's already got his CRB back so he needs to send it off to be apostilled.

Oh, notary and apostille are two different things. To get it apostilled, it has to be done in England. Check with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. If not, maybe they can point you in the right direction.

Yep, Foreign and Commonwealth Office

Here's the website.

Just take it to a lawyer, have him sign it, then run.

A bluenose helping a Viler, we're all friends in Korea though?

I just went to the closest solicitor for mine, shouldn't be a problem. Make sure they have a stamp containing the company's name (phone no. should be included I think) and the solicitor's signature. Mine only cost a fiver, but I know they can cost more, usually around 20.

****! Sad I wish I'd have known this sooner. I just got mine from there and need to get the sign and stamp thing done.
Still, I'll probably have to get another one done anyway if I'm understanding the '6 month rule' correctly.
