I wanted to get one of those big BBQs at costco, it was huge, like one for my dreams. when i finally convinced my wife we should get it, they are now out.
does anyone know where else i can get a real BBQ? or if you bought this one, and want to sell it, i am game.
(real, means big, big double racked, arms on the sides, a top to smoke.) |

i have never been to a costco in korea but i do know there are a few around. i'm sure there is more than one in seoul. have you checked out the others?
another idea is to look on those websites that sell costco items and then deliver them for a small fee. maybe they have some connections with the costco warehouses or something.
good luck to you and enjoy the weather. |

Are you talking about that full size Kingsford model Costco had? If you want something that nice, you be better off just waiting for Costco next season.
Anything close to that costs a small fortune. I found a real barrel smoker with a side firebox for a cool one million won. Even the Weber's are ridiculously priced here. You can find them at Hannam Market, near Itaewon. You can find other bbq shops around Dongdaemun and Gwanak wholesale areas.
BTW - Costco is out of charcoal for the season and Hannam Market prices are way too high...
Good luck! |

They have a few at Hanam Market, near the Harley dealership. Dunno what the price is though. I've always been partial to charcoal grills. Bit messy, but can't beat the taste when compared to gas grills (for me).
The large (Weber) charcoal grill runs 200,000 won and the smaller charcoal (Weber) grill runs 80,000 won. Basically double what you'd pay back home.
Side note:
When I was buying my grill, I was reminded of the scene in Apocalypse Now, where they were bbq'ing on the beach. The narrator (Sheen) said:
WILLARD (v.o.)
"Kilgore had a pretty good day for himself. They choppered
in t-bones and beer and turned the LZ into a beach party.
The more they tried to make it just like home, the more they
made everybody miss it." |
