What websites are good for meeting people in Korea? I know that a lot of foriegners use facebook, but are there any other ones? Facebook seems like it's more for peope who already know each other. Which others are good?
Are there any good websites to meet Koreans, maybe for language exchange? |

try UBlove.com but I think it's hard to hook up unless you live in Seoul. It's not free either it seems to cost an arm and leg. Not sure about free sites. I think online might be a good way to meet attractive girls that want to learn engrishee if you are having a tough time meeting one through your social circle. |

Why else besides sex would anyone be interested in cultivating a "friendship" online??
Have you ever attended one of those BIG HAPPY CRAZY LOVE PARTY ENGLISH PRACTICE things they have in Shinchon every now and then? Also, another one called ilovekorea or something.. Both feel like foreigner zoo and lame to the max for the most part, but you might enjoy them if you're really desperate to meet English-speaking Koreans.I think both have webpages on cyword.. |

This site is not good for meeting people. This site is all about sharing survival information, venting anger over a keyboard, trolling and joking around. Nobody really takes this forum seriously it seems. I've been posting on this site for a while and nothing has come of it, never met anyone, it's a great place to get info though.
I just want to make friends and find cool people who share my interests and are around my same age. I am pushing 30 here, it's not old, but I do feel like i'm done with that whole lifestyle of hard drinking all the time and getting wild and crazy.
I think most foreigners in Korea, and many Koreans, are in more of a partying and drinking all the time mode. Clubbing until 4 or 5 a.m. and getting totally plastered is not my thing anymore.
It would be nice to make connections with other mature people who I can just chill out with and make a deeper bond. And i'm thinking the internet might be a good route for that. Because such people seem to be rare in the big K.
I am interested in dating too for sure. Just like 95% of the male ESL teachers. I would be a liar to deny that. So if you know any places where I can meet interested women, I am all ears.
Aside from online. Where do you all go to meet people in Korea, besides bars and clubs? I've always had decent luck at Starbucks or other coffee shops. |

I mosty just want to meet smart and mature people really. If I want to meet goofy party people, I can just go to a club or foreigner bar.
But like my old biology teacher once said "The purpose of life, is to have sex." |

Well, in that case, why don't you search for a social club or meetup group (try meetup.com or cyworld/naver if you can read Korean) that matches your personal interests (hiking, photography, soccer, whatever) and go from there? |

Cool thanks, i'll try those. I was planning on joining meetup groups for sports and outdoor activities, but I just don't really know which sites are good.
I cannot speak or read Korean at all, so I don;t get too far on sites like cyworld. I can count to ten and say a few other words, that's about all. But this is why I want to do a language exchange, I want to learn more Korean, and maybe meet cool people in the process. |
