Orientation Director Jon Park's letter says that Orientation will be held at the Hyundai Training Center. However, the location has apparently changed. It is now at Sungkyunkwan University at their Suwon location (not far south of Seoul).

The dates are still the same: fly into Incheon Airport on Sun, August 23rd where shuttle buses (available 10am-4pm) will take you to Suwon. Orientation officially starts on Monday.

The big upside to the location change is that now you will...only have ONE roommate. From what I've seen/read/heard, three teachers are usually assigned to one room at the Hyundai Center.

You can see pictures of housing on the university's website.
http://www.skku.edu/eng/

Directions:
Go to the link.
On the left, click on "Campus Life"
After you arrive at the new page, place your mouse over "Campus Life" on the left bar again. DO NOT CLICK. You should see a sub-menu appear.
Click on "Housing--Suwon"

Keep in mind though that things can change, and you may not receive as nice of a room--it is the show room after all.[/url]

Just looked at the pics of the dorm rooms. Does anyone know if we're suppose to bring our own bedsheets??

That's a good question. I hope not, I'm close to my weight limit on baggage. And bed sheets are not common in Korea, I went a whole year without them.

What are you talking about? We are discussing whether or not we have to bring our own sheets. Even in a hostel, you are not supposed to sleep on a bare mattress for hygienic reasons, so the dorm likely has similar rules. What do you see as a complaint or something to justify that we are "a coddled bunch"? Yes, with limited bag space, I would rather not have to bring something I will need just for orientation.

I did orientation at the start of this year (may it burn in the fires of an excrutiating hell), and they gave us out own bed-sheets and pillows.

You should talk to your recruiter. My recruiter said that they will be at the airport from 10am-8pm. Pretty sweet eh?

My recruiter told me that if you are already in Korea (like I will be, I'm flying in early on the 19th) that you can meet at this highschool in Seoul at 10am on the 24th. Anyone else been told this?? I thought it was kinda wierd cause the orientation is supposed to start on the 24th...hmmm

What your recruiter said is correct. I read last year's schedule, and on the first day the "opening ceremony" was in the afternoon on the first day. My EPIK orientation last year didn't start until about noon on the first day, so don't worry about missing anything.

Well I assume they gave out sheets at the Hyundai Training Center because they have to provide them for the employees who go there for training. I doubt the dorms provides sheets for all their students so isn't there still a possibility we wouldn't be provided with sheets? I sure hope that isn't the case because that would be ridiculous.

I don't remember caring too much about sheets while I was at orientation. Honestly, you should be more concerned with where you'll be placed.

I'm just saying...

Well I sincerely hope no one's top concern is sheets and I think it's safe to say that it's just something that people are pointing out. As for being concerned about placement.. I don't think people should be spending too much time being concerned about that at this point either because we all knew what we were getting into when we signed with SMOE and you can spend all the time you want worrying about it but it won't change where you're going to be.
