I figure that I'll eventually end up purchasing a flat screen while I'm in Korea. How much do these go for in retail stores? Is it better to buy used? |

You'll have to stipulate what kind of screen size you would like, and if Full HD 1080p is important to you. |

I'd shoot for 32-42" and I would like 1080 but I'd settle for 720. |

For those screen sizes you'd be hard pressed to notice the difference between 720 and 1080 because you'll likely be limited by your eyesight. |

I remember on gmarket I found a 40" 1080p LCD HDTV for around 700,000w. Pretty good deal.
It was an off-brand that used LG-Philips panels. |

Sounds awesome guys. I want to use it primarily for Bluray and Video Games. What about sound systems? |

If you're using Bluray then you'd be selling yourself short getting anything less than 1080p.
Also, people who buy under 42'' tend to be a little dissappointed later when they realize their TV is actually not very big. Definitely not 'cinematic'.
I think Xbox and PS3 can output a 1080p signal. PC's also. And Bluray players definitely do...........
..............if, and it's a big IF, you have sources that can do 1080p.....then you should get a 1080p TV.
It's true that many people can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p...........but you will know yourself!! And it will bug you. You'll be always hankering after that 1080p. |
