Hillary Clinton speaking of past colonialism regarding the Congo.

"I cannot excuse the past and I will not try," she said. "We can either think about the past and be imprisoned by it or we can decide we're going to have a better future and work to make it."

I think many other countries, especially some in the Middle East, could seriously benefit from this way of thinking. Let it go! Obsessing about the past keeps the fires of intolerance and hatred burning. I cannot see how it moves society forward in any positive way.

In contrast, here is the unwisdom of Hillary Clinton:

Quote:
a Congolese student asked her about Bill Clinton's view on a foreign policy issue. "My husband is not secretary of state," Clinton snapped. "I am."

"You want me to tell you what my husband thinks?" Clinton asked sharply. "If you want my opinion, I will tell you my opinion. I am not going to be channelling my husband."

We didn't but you're right and that's why her "unfavorables" are so high among American voters on both sides of the political spectrum. She's never learned how to get in touch with her feminine side thanks to the indoctrination she received in feminist activism at Yale. It's quite sad as she is also quite capable but when she visits other countries she has the strong tendency to lecture them. Her talk at the International Women's conference in Beijing is one prime example.

By contrast, Bill is the consummate politician. Really, he and Reagan both were although many Republicans wouldn't admit it. I like Bill; I really do. He's far more moderate than his wife, and charming to boot. And I'll wager that he and Bush '43 could sit down over a beer and get along just fine if the press left them alone.

Hillary has always been a polarizing figure, I'm afraid. She's her own worst enemy.

A load of soppy bollocks if you ask me... These politicians will put on a smile and say any old thing at all to come off as compassionate individuals and make us think our government loves us.
Do you actually think Hillary Clinton gives a *beep* about African colonialism? I don't. These politicians are just a pack of cold blooded amoralists who have manipulation and deceit down to a science. Judge them by their actions.

I would have prefered her over Obama.

She also seems to understand the US-Korea thing a bit better than other US politicians.

Well would one ask a male SecState about his wife's opinion on a policy issue?

If it was a casual question that's one thing, if it was asking about American policy, then she was well within her rights.

One might if said wife had been a President of the United States.

That said, evidently the poor fellow was probably actually asking the much more salient question of what Barack Obama's opinion was. Her snide response was based on nothing more than what was probably a misunderstanding, but that certainly didn't stop her from showcasing her insecurity.

What's inexcusable is that the same student approached her with the translator after the meeting ended and she still brushed him off. Now had a Bush appointee done the same, the NYT would have lacerated him/her.

Well, she does seem a little wiser than the woman who was smugly stating to the press corps: "Oh, we are the 'real' conservatives" after the Democrats won the 92 election.

If a man was asked what his wife thought and replied in the same way nobody would care. Because Hillary's a woman everyone thinks she's a b**ch.
