My boyfriend and I are looking for teaching jobs in Seoul and want to start at the end of September. He has taught in SK before, and I have 4 years teaching experience with kids. We are just a couple of weeks away from being done gathering all of our visa documents, and we've sent out a ton of letters of inquiry. We've been really organized, and each email we send has our resumes and scanned passports attached, plus all of the usual information schools and recruiters ask for. We've been looking for over a week, and haven't heard anything back. We're not picky about the details, as long as we are in Seoul and not working too far away from eachother (if not together). Are teaching jobs getting scarce, or are we doing something wrong? Is there somewhere else we should be looking besides this site?

The school semester is about to start in about 2 weeks, so most of the positions are full, and some people who were accepted by public schools with SMOE have reported that they were told they were overbooked and rejected due to no more positions open. The jobs might be scarce (but there are still some, especially if you look at hagwons) but they will open up pretty soon. I'm sure not everyone will get their visas in time or actually show up when they are supposed to, so vacancies will appear. Don't give up, just be patient.
