I want to try this out. Been hearing a lot about it, anyone tried it?
Anyone want to get together for beer/chicken/screen golf after Aug 22nd, please send me a pm and I'll try to organize something.
Cheers |

It's alright. It really doesn't compare to the real thing though. |

Too artifical for me. Might as well get a Wii and the Golf game instead. |

I play it every week. Its better than real golf... less walking... air conditioned and it gives you the stats, like distance etc etc .... much better than real golf |

I've only played a few times. There are a couple of programs out there that I've seen in Korea. VR golf seems to be really unrealistic and forgiving to bad players (like myself), but Golfzon (I think it's spelled like that) is quite a bit more realistic. Still not nearly as hard as real golf, but not easy for novices. I'm a lefty though, and lefty screen golf places are few and far between in Daegu. |

Yeah, I played 18 holes once. It was pretty cool if you ask me. I went with a 12 pack of beer and some friends. We had a great time. It was cheap enough if you ask me. |

I was a 16 handicap but I shoot 2 or 3 over in the 'golfzone' one. Good fun though. Basically the big difference between it and real golf is that you always have the same lie. The ball is always on level ground. The actual simulation and club distance seems pretty realistic. |

There are some where the platform moves. So you can have uphill/downhill/sideways lies. |

Bump...
Would anyone be kind enough to answer these questions for me?
1) How much does Screen Golf actually cost?
2) Do you pay by the round or by time?
3) If two people went (i.e Husband and wife / boyfriend and girlfriend) would it be normal to have seperate games or do some people kind of share a game?
4) Would someone who has never hit a golf ball in her life (my wife) look totally out of place or can anyone go? |

From my experience at 4 different establishments...
1) 9 holes = 15,000. 18 holes = 20,000 - 25,000. Some places offer small discounts earlier in the day.
2) You pay by the round.
3) The choice is yours.
4) Anyone can go. If you pay, you can play. |

More expensive than I was expecting but a whole lot cheaper than the real thing.
Do you think the screen golf experience offers good value for money?
If you are useless at it, how long does it take to do 18 holes?
Do these places get busy? |

My wife an I play screen golf quite often. I was off 11 before I came and she has only been on a golf course twice. It's great fun, although not 100% realistic. You play as in normal golf though, taking turns at shots depending on distance from the pin.
The price will vary depending on city etc and also between screen golf places. Where we play its 12k each for 18 holes. You pay by the round not by time.
We always play the same course but using different tees and skill settings (beg, am, pro)
Yep anyone can play. No one can see you so no need for embarressment.
Lots of place will let you drink beer too although it is illegal.
Give it a go it's cheap entertainment. |

I would like to give it a go as there is one in the building I live. However I am awful at golf. I would possibly treat it as good practice (like a driving range). I also want to know about clubs. I have seen one lady taking her whole bag of clubs down there. Are clubs often provided, or do I need to buy some to take with me?
I am also praying that they have beer down there. I see this as a great idea in the cold winters. |

All that I have been to have clubs you can use. I have seen one that sells beers and others will let you take it in on the sly. enjoy. |
