On the way? There is already Interpol. There is a UN. A WTO. A WHO.
The system is this:
One part of the world supplies and controls oil. Another part supplies technology. Another group of countries controls the world economy and wealth. The rest supply cheap labor and live in squalor. Now the cheap labor is in higher demand because it is materially productive and the economically powerful are saturated with degrees and not enough production. They are imploding. That's all. |

| Only time will tell what's going to happen. I know that sounds lame, but all this speculation that we're doing right now could sound pretty ModEdit silly in a couple of years. |

if xmas comes and the world comes to an end like asmith says then we call say he's right and then ask him what we should do after.
if, however, he's wrong (which myself and many other intelligent people believe) then we all get to mock him without mercey for listening to kook economists and thinking the sky is going to fall.
if u want some sound commentary, listen to Paul Krugman (Nobel Prize Winning Economist, Ph.D from MIT, Professor of Economics and International Affairs at Princeton University, and Centenary Professor at the London School of Economics........ and no, u r not smarter than him)
"So it seems that we arent going to have a second Great Depression after all. What saved us? The answer, basically, is Big Government." |
Krugman is an idiot. Just another shill for the left. I don't care that he won a Nobel Prize. Lots of idiots win Nobel Prizes. Did he predict the subprime mortgage fall out? No. Is he now talking about the problem with commercial real-estate? No.
Krugman can't even change his own shorts. He's just another member of the Ivy League mafia. His kind of thinking got us into this mess. |

The job market in America is totally in the gutter. And every year there are tens of thousands of new college grads entering the workforce. Almost EVERYONE in the US gets their B.A. degree these days it seems, so the competition is enormous, and the value of the degree is very weak.
We are seeing the current system collapse. And soon a new world order will begin. A new globalized economic system is on the way. |
Exactly. The current economic system is going bust because of imperfections in the system, namely, lack of accountability, gov't intervention (counter-capitalist actions), globalization and therefore, higher competition, etc. There is no plug to let out the steam, and things went bust. Essentially we had and still do, an unsustainable system that was coasting on fumes until even they ran out.
Asia is set to take over. Why? Younger and larger populations, the advantage of being a second mover and therefore capitalizing on the West's innovation thereby seeing huge economic growth. |
Asia doesn't have much accountability either ... |

A lot of them aren't smart. They are connected.
George Bush. Al Gore. John Kerry. Those three lard-heads don't belong anywhere near a community college nevermind the Ivy League.
Don't fool yourself. These people aren't brilliant.
But they are a mafia. You go to get connected. |

I would like to thank you people for this thread. Though I still have no idea or any pressing concern about what the future will hold, I now know what the word profligacy means, and it sounds wonderful!
prof⋅li⋅ga⋅cy [prof-li-guh-see] Show IPA
noun
1. shameless dissoluteness.
2. reckless extravagance.
3. great abundance. |

You're grouping Krugman in with the likes of George Bush? Do you even know why Krugman received his Nobel Peace Prize? Seriously, look at his work on the economics of scale; it's nothing short of brilliant.
He's a prof at Princeton. He's won the Nobel Peace Prize in economics. Even his detractors in the field of economics respect his work. The guy has credentials, and I think that alone makes it necessary to analyze his work and assertions, and apply those in your criticisms of him. |

He's an idiot. Wow! A prof at Princeton, no less! Then why didn't he tell us about the subprime mortgage crisis before it happened. Why isn't he telling us about the upcoming commercial real-estate crisis.
Other people predicted it. marc faber. peter schiff. max keiser. gerald celente. jim rogers.
Why didn't the ones who continue to get it right get the Nobel Prize?
Here's the answer: Fixed political game. |

^-------- coming from a guy that probably didnt go to an ivy league school, is not a professor at two of the most respected schools in the world, has never written a book on economics (or at least one people have read), presents no sources or evidence to back up his claims, and "debates" by using ad hom attacks like "he's an idiot" and "lard-heads"..... u sir, have no legitimacy.
u come off sounding like a paranoid and delusional conspiracy nut, that regurgitates sound bites and one liners from kook economists that hang out on the fringe, because no one with actual intelligence takes them seriously.
u claim not to be political (or at least party biased) but u sound just like these cry baby wing nuts that show up to health care town halls screaming that obama is both a fascist and a communist (at the same time). a secret muslim, the anti-christ, and the devil all at once. and wants to set up death panels to force abortions and pull plugs on grandmas. .... uve seen how out of touch with reality these people r.. now look in the mirror, same-same.
but im willing to indulge ur lunacy. heres the deal: u say the proverbial poop is gonna hit the fan come christmas or shortly there after. i'll do u one better and give ur crack pot theories till Valentines day to come to fruition. if they do, i will publicly acknowledge ur obvious superior intellect and foresight. when they don't however, u have to acknowledge here, and post a thread titled "I guess I really am crazy" where u admit u were wrong, are an "idiot", that there is no such thing as an ivy league mafia, and that perhaps the people that r our national leaders for economics and monetary policy r smarter than urself- some loser that gets bossed around by elementary school students and thinks he's smarter than the rest of the world. |

I was thinking along these same lines today...about how many posters here (yes, including myself sometimes) think have they have some insider edge in what's going to happen with the global economy, but aren't smart enough to escape hagwon crazyland. |

I have forwarded this to the people at Webster's as a candidate for the definition of "owned" |
