Is there a good, easy to use, freeware video editor? (Not Windows Movie Maker.)

Having done software searches before, I was really wondering if there was a free, easy to use video editor that others here have used that they would recommend. Still, thanks for the input.

I'm using Nero Vision and Sony Vegas Pro at the moment. Both are not free..........although they were to me.

Grab a torrent of

Cyberlink Power Director: it's easy to use but has good features.

I've always used virtual dub and never had any problems. Does everything I need it to do, even captures frames into animated gifs.

what is it that you're wanting to do? i think cyberlink is good and easy to handle. but i prefer sony vegas. if you want to get an easy-to-use program and stick with it, get cyberlink's. if you want to get a good program that you can slowly learn on, then i'd suggest sony vegas. it's pretty complex at first, but look at some tutorials online and you can do all the basics real quick.
then, when you're comfortable, you can slowly tinker around and learn more. soon you'll be editing masterpieces at home, then you'll realize you need a camera and you'll be shooting your own films. perhaps later you'll be producing titles such as "terminator 9er" and "gone with the wind remix".
good luck.

You get what you pay for. Free is usually junk.

Don't be such a cheapskate and buy something that works. I use Pinnacle Studio
and for $50 it works great.
