Michael Savage is an @sshole, but for him or anyone else to be denied freedom of movement from one democratic nation to another on account of "controversial views" is disgraceful.
By all means contain the jihadists or their western counterparts (inciters of actual violence, that is) but let the casual bigots and blowhards go where they want. Otherwise, everyone else's freedoms are jeopardized.
I hate to say it, but Britain and much of Europe suffer from not having a written constitution with speech freedoms guaranteed by it. |
And...that is the main point overall. If you don't like someone, don't listen to them. BUT, they have the freedom to say what they want and you have the freedom to listen to whomever you want. I dispise Ann Coulter and Ariana Huffington equally, but they can say what they want and I just choose to not subscribe to them. |

I agree that Britain would benefit from a written constitution - the right one of course - but the EU has extensive guarantees of civil rights. |

but the E.U. has a different interpretation of speech freedom, a highly unsatisfactory one that equates criticism of religion (i.e., of Islam) with racial incitement. |

I for one find Michael Savage always entertaining and sometimes right. So do my friends of across the political spectrum. At work we'd always put Savage on for an hour, he always got the ball rolling. Nothing like the PA announcement, Motley Crue, and the machine guns in his intro. Always put a smile on everyone's face.
Yeah there is the flash and sizzle on his program but there are also digressions into Animal rights and biology and such.
Banning him dosen't serve any purpose except to enhance his standing. |

And it's been working. Libs in general were so pissed about the NYT article and called it a "fluff piece," but lately more libs and dems have been callign his show and saying that they are "waking up" and agreeing with him.
Click on this link and scroll down to read the article, which is broken up in pieces by ads urging you to buy the article. Apparently the issue of the NYT sold out quickly.

The UK is pathetic for not allowing Savage into their country. They're right up there with us and Israel for deporting Cat Stevens. |

please... there is nothing wrong with criticizing religions. You have the right to believe whatever you want no matter how stupid it is. I reserve the right to call delusional people as they are. |

My comment was of a similar sentiment, if you failed to notice. |

Didn't the UK just allow the Lockerbie bomber into their country? |

What a pathetic country the UK has become. |
Well, the police issue sounds like a totally idiotic decision from a law-enforcement branch that has made other totally idiotic decisions in the past. In the States, that's the kind of thing that would be immediately met with a lawsuit which would end in the policy's removal, and that's a good thing.
Regarding the senior home issue, though, it sounds to me like an example of the people of Britain standing up against the imposition of Muslim culture rather than letting it happen. How could the people of Britain have better delt with the actions of that one wonky home owner, such that they wouldn't be labelled as pathetic? |

Was referencing the police.
Speaking of muslims, Europe and the police:

^How can one tell the biological sex of someone wearing one of those (without peeking, I mean!)?
I have a great idea for a drug dealer... |

Jacko apparently wandered around Dubai (or wherever he was) in a burka to maintain privacy. |
