Losing touch, I think was his screen name....will search later and update.
I was at the train station at Ulsan yesterday and I asked him for directions. Ended up drinking some beer on the train to Haeundae. He was going to the beach to buy an Ipod touch ala craigslist style. I was going there because I wanted to go to Busan and the beach...damn....didn't stay there that long.
Well, we ended up listening to some Alan Jackson and Garth Brooks and visiting a phillopino hostess bar because I really wanted to go. Met a cool Phillopino girl, but I was kicked out of the bar later probably because I was too drunk. Now I feel really guilty because of my fiancee who I am kind of on a break with. Oh well, ModEdit happens. Now I am drinking soju at a PC bang....I hope they install my internet soon.
The poster I met was from Washington DC. He left the Phillopino bar pretty early it seems...can't really remmber. I took like three taxis home and they all got it wrong. Oh well, was a fun night. |

Kentucker, I thought I was a confused cat, but you seem even more confused than me.
Anyways, stay away from those hostess bars, especially if you want to live on a budget. Trust me. I know from experience. |

So your first thought upon getting home wasn't, "I should go to bed!" But was instead "I must post about this on Dave's!" ? lol |

I already slept. Can't really sleep for more than five hours for some reason. Yes, I told the poster I would post about this today. |

You'll find the posts make a lot more sense if you realize that none of it is true. |

Hostess bar? Weren't you saying a week or so ago that you would be on a bare bones budget for your first month back? Did you suddenly come into a windfall, or am I thinking of another poster? |

You could, but you must have a Korean Ganster Bigfoot shooting down a UFO while humping a unicorn which is impaling a dolphin crying rainbows on the back...
...welcome back Kentucker... |

I would love to know what goes through your mind every time you post. Regardless, watching you write your about your nonsensical adventures and life always puts a smile on my face. |

Ok, I have been reading Dave's for a long time. I was a lurker long before I ever posted. I know the history of kentucker4. I know the stories, and I have had my fair share of laughs reading the stories he has advanced on this forum and others. I always thought that it was all BS and that these stories must be made up from a person with too much free time.
I had been in touch with a poster here to purchase and Ipod Touch. I had arranged to meet him at Fuzzy Naval in Busan. Living in Ulsan, I figured the trip would be a good way to spend the day. You never know what crazy ModEdit you are going to encounter here ....
So, I made my way to the Ulsan Train Station. I noticed one foreigner in the station as I bought my ticket to Haeundae. As I was standing near the entrance entertaining the idea of drinking an afternoon beer, he approached me unexpectedly. With a slight southern accent, he asked me if I spoke English. Of course, I laughed and replied that I did.
This man proceeded to tell me his story of arriving here in Ulsan just a few days earlier. He asked me where Mugudong is. It turns out that he lives there. He was a little lost and going to Busan to see what was there to remind him of his past in Busan.
As the words came from his mouth, I quickly put the puzzle pieces together. His wife/fiance from Korea. He came here from L.A. He is from Georgia. It all fit perfectly. I asked him directly if he posted on here. He denied it immediately, but I already know. I don't really care about online personalities. I can distinguish fact from fiction. I will judge a person based on what I see and hear.
So, I bought a beer and had a smoke. The whole time I was talking with my new friend from Georgia. We went to Busan together. I changed my seat to sit next to him on the train. It was alright. We went to Haeundae Beach and drank some booze. My buddy got drunk.
I convinced him to come back to Ulsan. By the grace of God, he actually got on that train. It was over that last beer in Busan that he told me he was kentucker4. He said he was embarrassed, but I told him that he shouldn't worry about all of that.
We got back to Ulsan, and he really wanted to see a hostess bar. Well, I brought him to my apartment so I could plug in my Ipod and let it charge. We then proceeded to about 5 different bars before getting to Neptune's in Ulsan. It was there that I left my new friend. I had a trip scheduled to Gyeongju today. I had to be up at 9:00 am, so I did leave a little early. I was quite worried until I saw this thread.
For what it is worth, Kentucker is an alright guy. Believe me, he is real. His stories are true. He is a bit crazy, but so am I. He is actually a really nice guy.
I don't really know what to say, but I can say that my perspective about him has changed. It is true that he is short on money at the moment, but I have no doubt that he will be fine.
