...a plug adaptor for electronics configured for the US? I looked at my local E-Mart and Homeplus without finding one. I brought one with me but another one would be more convenient. Where else should I look?
I've found them on E-bay but would rather buy locally and skip shipping charges if possible. Thanks! |

Think I saw the answer to your question in the FAQ forums. |

I would say a hardware store (not saying that as a dig). I'd go to a hardware store with the plug you have and write down on a piece of paper 110W->220W. They'll know what you're talking about.
Or you could also go to Yongsan Electronics Market. |

Oh, duh! Of course, a hardware store! I don't know what it is about not speaking the language that makes my problem solving skills fly out the window. I'll ask at work how to find a local one...or maybe just have a wander round.
Thanks! |

I was in the same predicament when I arrived 9 years ago. I came across an awesome microwave at a second-hand store that was 110W. However, I had to buy a power converter box because just using an adaptor would have blown it up.
Take a look around where you live and see if you can find a hardware store. But at the same time notice what Hanguel characters are used to write it.
Or when you go to work, have a coworker write down in Korean what you need and a phrase for "where can I find a hardware store" so you can show someone if you get lost. Koreans are very helpful in things like this, |

It could be me (not familiar with American convertors), but aren't a couple of those for sale at the Sale/Buy/Trade Forum? |

I looked at those mimis but all I really need is the bit that allows me to use my flat pronged items in the round pronged holes of Korean outlets. |

iPark Mall, electronics floor number 7 or roundabout there where you can get blank DVDs. I think it's on the Bookscan floor. In the one corner, they sell adapters.
If you feel more adventurous (or are looking for PC games and more electronics), go through iPark Mall, then through the tunnel, and walk round the electronics market behind it. You may also find Hooters there. |

Where is iPark Mall? What city, I mean. I'm in Ilsan but am planning a trip into Seoul in the next week or two. |

Picked up a transformer box thing (110 to 220volts) at the Guro Tool Market. 15,000won Walk around and look for a shop that deals in socket and plug stuff.
Guro Station, Seoul Subway Line 1. |
