I'm planning a weekend trip for myself and some friends this weekend to Busan. We're going to take the train Sat morning and stay until Sunday. We want to hang out at the beach. What's the best beach to go to? Is Gwangalli better than Haeundae this time of year, or are they both packed? Also, how easy is it to get a room at a beachside hotel this time of year? And where's the best place to go at night with nightclubs, bars, young people, etc.?

Gwangali is arguably better, but both are busy... Or, probably busy. Sometimes you get lucky...

As for a hotel/motel... The cheapest and nicest ones, with the widest selection of rooms are found by Haeundae. There's a really nice hotel I like, but I've forgotten the name of it.

I'll probably be at Haeundae this weekend... It's my favourite part of Korea.

it's going to be crazy busy. i was there this month and it was a total joke. umbrellas for miles and not a jot of space to swim. still had a good time, but i'll be damned if im doing it again. try not to settle right in the centre of the beach. go east or west where it's slightly less crowded.

as for good clubs and bars, i didnt really find anything special. not compared to seoul anyway. the beach stays busy until late. people drink on the beach and the boardwalk.

Roxy's a decent club, but can't recall how to get there.

If you want nightlife, Haeundae, definitely. A big beach, lots of people, lots of places to go and see. There are lots of love motels and good hotels nearby.

If the beach itself is jammed, you can easily do an afternoon trip to Gwangan, which is a few subway stops away. My personal favorite is Daedepo, which is on the other side of the city, but is generally less crowded and is a much more natural-looking beach.
