i'm gonna be in seoul in a couple days.

There are 4 locations around Seoul. I usually go to the Yangjae one.

If you know which part of the city you're going to, you can find the nearest one here.

Why go to Costco alone? Are you going to eat 10kg of hotdogs/viennas/bread/milk/candy/fruit/fish/cheese all by yourself before it goes bad?

And you have to wait in line to get membership... too much trouble for one person. E-Mart is the best!

i was thinking more along the lines of I WILL GIVE YOU CASH BACK FOR LETTING ME USE YR CARD AND MB WE CAN EVEN SPLIT STUFF but my mom just told me stuff in korean costcos aren't that cheap :'(

Chicken breast and ground beef that doesn't cost the same as adopting a child from the third world? Woot!
Tortilla shells? Salsa that isn't 6k for 250ml? Pizza? Woot woot to the woot!...

Plus the card is international, so you can use it when you go back home! lol... Best 35k I've spent in Korea to date

does anyone know if you can join Korean costco without being a business? I just tried to join in the UK and you MUST be a business to join there, of course there are ways round this with friends, parents etc but i dont really have time...as I arrive in Seoul on Sunday!

I once needed some electrical tape, came home with a LIFETIME supply (the minimum I could purchase). Cosco is good for that...

What you guys should do find a group of FT's in your neighborhood and make a list of things to split up after the person(s) with the card(s) goes shopping and brings everything back. Add in the cost of the taxi home too. Use your cells to text back messages asking who wants in on certain products not on your list, like impulse buys or good deals the designated shoppers see at the last minute.

Will my costco card from Canada work in Korea? that would be awesome

COSTCO cards are international, so cards from different countries can be used in Korea. I used my Korean card last year in Canada without a problem. You just have to tell the cashier that it is a foreign card so they can imput the right code.

Secondly, you dont' need to be a business in Korea to get a card (Canada used to have that requirement but has since been abolished).

Third, there is a limit of 1 or two friends who can share the card at the cash when paying. Last, I think there is an one time free trial, meaning if you don't have a card, you can go and shop once without a card. You'd have to ask about this tho, as it might not be done here in Korea.
