I think a lot of foreigners coming here are just young and don't know any better. They haven't been told about how important the photo is.
One of the best courses I took in college was a required 1/2 semester course on building a resume, cover letter, and basic job interviewing. I now teach such a course. It packs-out every semester to the point that they go over my head and shove 5 more kids in it than should be. 
I've stated that our university should require ALL graduating seniors to take a similar course. |

Now I'm curious. What is the resume photo supposed to look like? Suit/business casual/casual dress? Smile/no smile?

You said suit, so I assume you're a guy.
Ok, Korean guy resumes. They are always wearing a suit, either no smile or small smile. Almost like well dressed mug shots sometimes. |

I haven't seen very many resume pictures for Korean women. I would guess a high button up shirt or blouse, hair and make up done, with a slight smile. |

The Korean-style resume photo is a quality color passport-sized photo in a suit/tie or business attire (females), shot from the shoulders up just like a passport.
You can get a set of 10 of these for about 12,000 won from a Fuji or Kodak store. |

Can you just take a photo with a digital camera or something? Since it will be emailed (if you're looking in your home country) to the company.
I was planning on asking my friend with a DSLR camera to take my resume pic for me |

I get this too. It is sent to the msn address I had on my account here, but I removed that. As far as I'm concerned they're a dirty organization and I'd never want to be associated with them. They're basically picking random e-mail addresses off the internet and spamming them their business.
In the email I'm addressed as customer, and I've gotten teacher spam and just recently I also got spam for them selling a book.

Contrary to what others have posted, I think Park English is a good and organized company. I am currently going through them right now.
Lena is organized, gets back to me quickly and usually calls me. She also speaks english well.
Recruiters are recruiters though, so just use whichever one to find the school you want. |

Yes, if you talking about a digital resume. You only need to get a photo if you have like a "form" Korean resume with a spot for the picture to go.
My resume was a typical American resume using Microsoft Word, but then following the form of Korean resumes, I inserted my picture next to my name in the top left corner, and emailed/printed it out that way. |

I came over a few years ago with Park English as a young, dumb, and inexperienced would-be-teacher. They told me that if I came over without getting my work visa, I would get a "free vacation to Japan."
Due to my ignorance and their cunning, I took Park English's word that teaching without a work permit wasn't a big deal. In fact, if I would have been caught, I would have been fined and deported.
Everything turned out okay for me, but I wouldn't recommend a group that would encourage illegal entry and work in Korea. |

I used Park English and my recruiter was Lena. I had no problems with them. I didn't know about the blasting of the photos, but I could care less.
They answered all my questions, I corresponded with them via email and phone. I never did anything like this before and they made it very easy.
I got a wonderful job through Park English in Suwon. I did want to be in Seoul, they said they didn't have any jobs in Seoul. Suwon is just an hour bus ride away from Seoul, so that isn't too bad. I really like my neighborhood, my school and my co-workers.
I've passed Lena's name along to many of my friends who have shown interest in teaching in South Korea. |

Why don't you "pass it on" to your friend Lena that she's getting a bad reputation for spamming others with the photos and personal information of teachers? |

| I had a great experience with Park English. I started with them and another recruitment agency and the other one found a good job first. However, that job suddenly fell through and the agency didn't seem to care. I got a hold of Mia at Park English and she found 3 jobs for me within 24 hours. For over three months she has been in contact with me, helping me with every little aspect. I'm not here in Seoul and have her to thank. I'm actually taking her out to dinner in thanks because my situation would have been much worse without her. |
