I walked through reception this afternoon and greeted the receptionists and some well dressed ladies waiting around. Half an hour later the well dressed ladies come into the staff room and start handing out questionnaires to the female teachers. When they came to me, they wanted to hand me one, and were shocked when I said I don't speak Korean. They thought just because I greeted them in Korean, that I am Korean, or can fill in forms in Korean.

I feel so nice that they think I look like a Korean female, since I don't have nice long black locks like they do (I have very short red hair), and I don't wear heels and hot pants like they do.

I got mistaken for Chinese once by a well meaning Ajosshi. It's funny because I'm very obviously Caucasian (French ancestry).

I was mistaken for a girl once. In a bar. That nearly resulted in a fight. End result was I got a haircut.

Race no, but Asians usually assume I'm either American or Russian. Both equally annoying.

One time, a Russian girl assumed that I was Russian and started asking for directions in Russian.

I am Chinese, so it's natural for them to mistake me for a Korean.

Someone told me the other day that I look Korean, but with very defined and pretty features (my eyes are big, lips are full, cheek bones are high etc.)... and these things stand me out in a crowd..

If I knew how to set up an avatar here, I would show you, but I'm sorry, I just can't figure out how to!

I could be, are you hot?

Haha, no, I was very far from Yeoksam Station this morning. Think one hour north on the orange line.

I got my hair shaved a while ago, and was obviously mistaken for a 14 year old boy. When I had long hair, I was mistaken for a male friend with long red hair. Seems like the back of me just looks like a boy, whether I have a bald head or not.
