fyi op. levi 501's have ALWAYS been button fly. so the other "501"s u have had in the past were not 501s.
and is it really that hard to unbutton ur jeans? just tug on one side and they all should come off. |
ummmmmmmmmm..... no they haven't...
I've since found out that the button fly is the original standard but the zip option has been around since.... well..... zips were invented...
As the furry rodent above said...yeah maybe they're not fully broken in yet. Still think the zip is the better option however....
BTW mole, where the hell ya been? |
umm no. jeans are kinda my hobby, and when im not on this forum, which im not on a lot, im at a vintage/raw denim forum
http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showthread.php?t=34010
shows pictures and has information on all levis 501. the guy who wrote the first post has written a few books on levis jeans. "501 jeans" that have a zipper are prolly the 505.
edit: http://us.levi.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3194290&cp=3146842.3146844.3146854 the levis 501 page on levis.com, none of which are zipper fly |

Wow.....and I thought Koreans were dull....
So I guess the levi jeans marketed as 501 zipper fly are actually not 501 with zippered fly. Google Levi 501 zipper fly. |

These pre-shrunk heavyweight denim jeans are also known on the street as straight legs. 100% cotton, 13.75oz. " the description for levis 505 jeans.

i totally missed her post....thats another damn good reason for button flys lol.
try uniqlo, they sell some pretty nice jeans. im not sure if there mainstream models are button fly or not. but their japanese selvage models are. and there are levis stores everywhere, granted ive never been to one here in sk cuz i heard they are way overpriced. and depending on how young/old you are...koreans seem to like evisu jeans, and i think most of them are buttonfly. |

ahhhhhh... i don't mind admitting i could be wrong... but i still think the 505 and 501 have a different cut. I have a pair of 505 and it just feels different to the 501... the zip is nice however!!!
Funny how the quality of levis has changed so much. I only buy 'em because they are the only jeans that seem to fit me.... I ordered two pairs of the 501 from amazon.. the quality of one pair is great...nice thick denim...but the second pair feels almost brittle. Thin material. Not impressed.
BTW, i wasn't calling YOU dull. I was referring to the person who has written several books on jeans. But then again, there are 1000's of pornagraphic magazines out there dedicated to a single item of genitalia....so who am i to judge?? |

u r correct tho, 505 and 501 are cut differently, the 505 is not simply a 501 with a zipper, if i remember correctly its more of a "straight leg" while the 501 has a slight taper.
as for the two different types of 501s...maybe u might have ordered one that was "presoaked" and one that was "shrink to fit" the shrink to fit ones would be the brittle ones. but once soaked in water or washed, should be nice. |

Yeah, there's something so much more sexy about the pop pop pop of a button fly coming undone, and the smooth round feeling of the buttons, as opposed to zzzzzzzz and the sharp, cold teeth of a zip! More guys should wear them! |

| Button up fly is the new "in". No chance of zipping the skin of your dick in it, or catching some pubes. PLUS it has some airflow, good for those Korean summer sack-sticking-to-leg days. |

red devil why is your avatar not complete?
it's supposed to show a guy who comes to korea and tries to open his apartment door and after trying everything and passing out his door opens outward instead of the inward we westerners are used to. |
