| Should my husband and I include that we are both looking for jobs in our cover letters, or should I just write a cover letter as usual and mention that fact in interviews, etc.? Thanks! |

| By all means, accentuate the positive. Yes, say that you two are looking to work together and have a photo of you two together. |

Except if your spouse will lead you to not getting the job. |

One trick I learned was to include a seperate document (a personal sheet) that include other information that is not put on a normal resume. Stuff that if a company asked for in the US or Canada would get them sued.
Where I was born...
When I was born...
Basic physical description....
About my accent...
Tattoos, piercings, etc or lack of
Basic medical history ... blah blah blah allegies blah blah kept it to one sentence
Smoking habits or lack of
Drinking habits
Personal attachments - single, married, girlfriend
Interests, hobbies
Some photos of me
Anything can be put on this extra document
I played up the positives.... I felt a few places gave me a better chance when they looked at it. Koreans are generally snoopy and will want to know this. True at times they will judge your more on the stuff on the above list then your accomplishments like degrees or certs or experience.
So you could add that your spouse is looking to to a similar document. Still try and include with your cover letter too.
But do not be surprised if in the end they skip over the cover letter and go straight to just looking at your photo.
Good Luck to the both of you. |
