My wife and I are re-uping for a second year and we have to go to the immigration office to get our new visas. We are both EPIK, she is at one school and I am at 3(my choice). We have been told her fee is 60,000 and mine is 180,000 seems a bit odd. Anyone else got similar situation or ideas about the fees?

That does seem strange. I renewed in December for around 30,000.

Yea, Korean to Korean miscommunication. It's only 30,000.

This all depends on what is added to your visa. I'm pretty sure that the visa itself is 30,000. If you want to add a single or mulit-entry visa, it will cost you more.

If you're almost sure that you won't be leaving Korea, you don't have to get this type at all. If you think you won't be leaving but suddenly find that you must, you can get a single if/when you need it.

You can probably find the info you're looking for here:

Whoever "told" you must be using this logic:

1 school = 60,000

3 schools = 180,000

Go figure.

Best thing to do is go to immigration yourself and find out. Guess what? There will be someone there who speaks English! After all, it is immigration.

Actually, the last time I was at immigration, there were a couple of women helping people fill out their forms and they both spoke English very well, as did the official who processed our papers.
